01 silverado keyless entry re programming?
 

hey all.... new here. i got a 2001 silverado that i just bought used. it didnt come with a keyless remote... so my buddy works at a dealer and got me one...and i tryed to follow the instructions on how to program it from some website.. like holding the unlock button, turning the car on, off, on off, then letting go of the button and the locks are suppose to cycle.... but the truck did nothing? is there another way to do this?

Your doing it reight...the only other method is with a scan tool...do you know for sure the truck has this option?...give me the vin,and i'll look it up if u want
