03'GMC Sierrra 1500 "Service Air Bag" light
 

Today I replaces my rack and pinion in my truck, as i was doing so i moved my steering wheel back and forth. I heard a click, not thinking anything of it i proceeded to finishing my replacement. When I went to turn my truck on the "Service Air Bag" light came on. I hooked up my downloader to my truck and it gave the code U1064, meaning Loss of communication with DIM. What does this mean?? The service air bag light is still on and if i can i would like to deal with it myself. Thanks!

Probably broke your clock spring. Does your horn work?

Horn could still work passes thru clockspring.

Ohh I thought they both used the clock spring. I believe there's an airbag loading tool out there to test the airbag circuits? I wonder if you can't remove and unplug the airbag from the steering wheel and ohm out the airbag circuit that goes through the clock spring. The key here is to have the airbag removed ... and unplugged ....
