08-09 Silverado 6.0 gasser 3/4 mileage
 

I was thinking about getting a 2008 or 2009 Chevy crewcab3/4 4x4with 6.0 gasser, auto transand 3.73 gear.

I was reading that the 6.0 in 08 and 09 have the fuel management system that cuts back from a v-8 to v-6 when cruising. In the past, I heard the 6.0 was a gas hog. Can I please get some in putfrom people who are running thisrig. Please list hand or computer calculated mileage and basic driving habits and truck info.

Your better off getting the duramax

I agree, or get a 1500 with a 5.3 L.

I thought the 6.0's were paired with 4:10's for pulling power?

anyways, expect about a consistant 12-13 mpg, worse if towing.

I have a 2010 Chevy Tahoe with the fuel management system. I notice that when you are in slow traffic with you foot barely on the gas pedal, the truck will be in 4 cylinder mode and in fifth gear. This causes an annoying vibration and the truck hesitates when you push on the gas. Don't believe the hipe that the system doesn't kick in until 45 mph. This is happening around 25 mph. Get a duramax.
