08 tire monitor question
i rotated the tires but the dash doesen't know that the right front is now on the left rear.any way to reset the system?
|
On my 07 Silverado, you hold the lock and unlock buttons on the remote down at the same time. The truck honks the horn once to let you know its in TPMS relearn mode, then you let air out of the tires one at a time, starting with the drivers front. When the system detects the lower pressure, it honks again, and you move on to the next one. When you have all four tires done, and the system has detected them all, it will honk twice to signal that it is done.

Exactly, just hold down lock and unlock on the key fob, then start at the driver's front, move to passenger front, passenger rear, then driver's rear. You'll hear the horn honk twice when you're done.

is there any way to disable the system in case of a flat tire? i blew one on i-80 and had to put the spare on. it reads the tire is flat and keeps giving warnings (like i don't already know this!).

Nope... No way to disable the the tire pressure monitoring system. There are lots of threads all over the internet that give solutions.
ie: Take the monitoring transmitters from each wheel and install them into an air tank. Fill the tank and forget about it. |
