150,000 miles on brakes. Is that normal?

I drove my Silverado 1500HD 4x4 off the lot in March of 2003. Since the first mile, thru the 150,000th mile that it is on today, the brakes have worked flawlessly. Is this common with these trucks? I did my normal 5/6K mile tire rotation/rim polish yesterday and also took a quick peek at the brakes. The pads are still a good 3/8" thick and the rotors have the normal wear to them. I would POSSIBLY like to have rotors resurfaced just to make me happy, but, I only like to do things once; which would mean changing pads, fluid, etc....a complete brake job. The old problem of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

What do you think?

I hope I dont jinx myself by talking about these brakes. They'll probly start squeaking tomorrow.

I think you have an excellent set of pads and are probably easy on brakes when stopping. I have never heard of brakes lasting that long. I had a 1980 3/4 ton chevy that I got 120,000 on the front pads and longer on the rear drums. My 2004 GMC Z71 the front lasted about 50,000 to 60,000 and the rear pads about 80,000. If you don't feel anything wrong when braking I would wait until you are ready for new pads to do the rotors.
