shouldnt hurt you unless your goin into a really cold climate. keep your engine runnin a lil cooler and cost you about 15-16 bucks either at a parts store or on summit.

It cools your motor down closer to the 185 degree mark on your temp gauge. It tricks your computer into using a different injector pattern, and adds more fuel when you get on it. It also reduces your underhood temps, making yourambient air temp cooler=more power...
I've had mine in for a few months now, and it totally kicks ass. Probably the best mod I've done so far. It felt like it gave me more power than my headers did. Some say that it gives you worse fuel economy, but I did it at the same timethat I installed mytbs and I sawslightly better milage, but not enough to make a big deal about. There are two different types of t-stats, the one that includes the aluminum housing(water neck), and the one that is seperate. Your truck uses the one that is seperate from the housing, meaning you re-use your housing. I have seen these in Jeg's and Summit Racing for under $20.00

F.Y.I. 2002 was the last year that required the t-stat with the housing. 2003-present you can use the your own housing. The ones with the housings included are about $50.

Nope. My buddy has one in his and he drove to Ohio last winter and he said it ran fine. It got down to like 25 here and mine ran fine, too. I also had my pads out and the coolant bypass...

I was wondering about the gas milage. And i thought about doing it at the same time a the tb bypass. When the truck is cooled how much coolant will i lose changing out the thermostat?

It just depends on how good you are... J/K. I think the trucks have a four gallon capacity... Ask Argon. I'd say just flush it while you're at it. Red Line makes this stuff called Water Wetter. It says it cools your temps down, but I just use it to keep deposits and **** from forming in my system. It's like $7.00

RE: 160 thermostat

Well whats does it take to flush it?

RE: 160 thermostat

id say about 3-4 galls. cause all i would do is a quick flush. on it unless it could use a entire flush. how long has it been since youve done that?
