1979 GMC Sierra Grande Backfire
 

Good Afternoon,

I am new to this forum and need some help.

I have 1979 GMC SG K15 4x4 with a 350 auto transmission. The truck has been setting several years, I have succeeded in getting fuel to the carburetor and getting it to run somewhat smoothly. When I accelerate with the brakes engaged the engine backfires, any direction to correct this problem will be appreciated!!
