is a 1986 cheverlet scottsdale a good solid truck i am buying one for my son who just turned 16 the truck has no rust and has 85000 miles on it with a 8cylinder 2wd i looks great just wondering if i would have troubles down the road or anything like that

 

86' was a great year for chevy trucks. They built them like tanks. The only problem that I've heard about that was common with these trucks with the 305 engine was that the head gaskets would leak coolant. If this happens to you get a fel-pro gasket set, a 12pack and in about 3hours your son will be back to burn'n rubber. Great Buy

 

iv had my 87 for about 12 years now and never had anything but the normal probs with it(alt. rad starter...) but nuthin real bad from it in all thouse years.
