Update - Pulled fuel filter and when jump 87 to 30 at relay box still do not hear the pump and no gas coming out of the line. Then checked with test light for 12 volts at the fuel pump connector (bolted to frame by the tank) and it lights, also with relay in I get the light for several seconds indicating prime function working too. I also re-bolted the ground while there and confirmed it is grounding with the 12v test light. Am leaning toward bad fuel pump (Delphi HP10000 - hope they will warranty????) and want to post in case I am missing something, do want to drop tank unless truly necessary.
Also as for dropping tank (1995 Chevy Silverado 1500 Extended cab) and tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated - the front strap has a steel brace under the tank.
