1995 Silverado being very annoying

(Long post)
I have a 1995 Chevy silverado 1500, 350, 4x2. Bought from original owner( a mechanic that did everything by the book). I bought it with 285K miles on it. Has never smoked or used oil. I followed scheduled repairs (oil change @3k etc) and it was recently time for a major tuneup.A week ago I did the whole 9 (plugs, wires, dist cap, rotor button, coil, air filter, pcv valve, and serpintine belt).
2 days after this, the truck starts blowing white smoke at startup. It slacks off when engine warms up to temp. I noticed fluid leaking around front of engine. I replaced intake manifold gaskets. I also double checked the tuneup parts(plug gap, timing check etc)
The truck still smokes. It doesn't smell like antifreeze, a slight carbon smell, just a light white color.I ran a compression test and am showing 150 pounds on each cylinder. This is within specs. There is nothing other than beautiful clean oil on the dipstick and the same when I drew a bit from the pan. There is no evidence of leaks from manifold replacement. Antifreeze level is within specs (hot vs. cold)

This sudden smoking is driving me crazy. What am I missing?

Thanks for any suggestions
DS

What kind of fluid did you find leaking? White smoke usually means water inside of the engine. I'm not there to see it,but it sounds like either that,or for some reason the motor is running very lean. Check the fuel pressure.

Also, when you check the oil are there small bubbles on the dipstick?

Just a tiny leak of coolant. When I replaced the manifold gaskets, they pretty much crumbled in my hands. The originals, no doubt.

No bubbles at all

I'll check the fuel delivery system, though it seems a bit odd for this to occur right after a tuneup. I didnt even think about that....

Check pcv maybe bad when bought.
This happened to me white smoke . I checked all ... what is up .
Then one day checking fluids .. brake fluid was empty.
Booster went bad ....was sucking brake fluid into intake white smoke.
But may not be your problem.

have you considered the pcv is bad,or with increasing you performance with new stuff you raised the vacuum and the is trany fluid coming in from vacuum modulator?
