1995 Suburban w/ 6" lift needs help

Hi all, my cousin has a 1995 Suburban 1500 w and 6" lift, 35" tires and everything else is basically stock.

He's beat on his rig so much that his rear wheels are almost swinging out and hitting his rear 1/4 panel.

Real stabilizer bar, correct? He's also bouncing quite a bit. I told him to just dump the rig and get another since he's probably going to have to replace his shocks, stablizer bar, add-a-leaf, etc.

I'm sure he's going to keep the rig and dump money into it, so ...is my above assumption correct?

Sounds pretty dang close. Did he bend the rear axles??? I've never heard of anyones back tires being like that........

Well, it's what he told me ...

But I was driving behind him one day when we were going to the beach and he drove up on the curb to get around traffic (it's scary to be a passenger in his car) ...the back of his cab shifter about 5" to left beyond his left tire.... I called him on his cell and told him he better knock it off or his cab will snap off. lol

Southbay, All of that wheel hop could be form a bent rim too. I had this problem with my ranger. I chunked the rear end at 75,000 miles due to a rim being bent. Ya might try balancing tires, I mean it's a cheap try to try to get rid of some of the wheel hop. Otherwise I think you are right on the money with the stabalizer, shocks and add a leafs. Springs are most likely weak from being beat on like that. I would also check the quality of all the suspension bushings while you are back there.

Keep an eye on the leaf springs. That would be my best guess cause when it sitting still it is sometimes hard to see a cracked leaf or bad shackle. Try jacking the rear end up via the frame and shake the rear axle. Then maybe check the body mounts.

Sounds like rear springs or spring perches or u-bolts. I agree to put the frame on jacks, then start shifting the axle side to side if possible and see what is loose. Don't wait long as the rear axle could just break loose.
