i bought a 96 chev halfton the tranny is blown my ? is will a tranny out of a 95 astro van fit in it or not ???

 

NO for several reasons one being the output shaft is probably diffrent (shorter) along with multiple other small diffrences

 

can you tell me what will fit in this thing? it has a 4.3 v6 2wd or can i just swap the tail shaft?

 

pretty much anything in that style truck with a 4.3......but you will still find diffrences........swapping tail shafts requires a complete tear down of the tranny......a rebuild is your best bet most places will do it pretty cheap if you pull it and take it to them
