Default 1997 Chevy Silverado Moaning noise when breaking
Hoping someone can help ~ I have a 1997 Chevy Silverado 4 x 4 that makes a moaning or groaning sound when I slow down to stop. Starts making the loud noise right around 10mph until stopped. Any ideas as to what it could be?

Check your rear brakes.

Ok - maybe I should have mentioned that it sounds like the groaning is coming from the front, but I cant be sure. I believe I have new brakes and rotor, but I'll have my son look at it.

Also check the differential fluid in the front.
