Default 1998 GMC to Chevy conversion

I am having a hard time finding a 1995-1998 Chevy 1500 but am finding dozens of good deals on GMC of the year span. I was wondering if I can simply put a chevy grille where the GMC used to be? Is it fairly straightforward? Or is it complicated? What all do I need to do? Thanks for any help

I would just leave it as a GMC if I were you and put a billet assembly on the front. The way I see it is that if you were to place a chevrolet grille on the front and then try and sell it, the buyer might figure out that the grille doesn't match up with the steering wheel, tailgate, hubcaps, side logos, Manual, or VIN number and might be lead to believe that the trucks been wrecked regardless of what you or the carfax say.

That's just my advice, you can take it or leave it, but I personally would not look twice at a vehicle that had mismatched parts.

Take a look at some of the billet or aftermarket assemblies from LMC truck, you should be able to find one you like and I'd assume that the cost would be about the same as a chevy grille
