The drivers seat in my pickup won't lock. I had to kind of rig it to hold it in place and keep it from constantly sliding forward. I have tried to do some research and the only conclusion I came to is that the cable is potentially strpped. Has anyone else had this issue, and how did they correct it?

 

As far as I know, the cable under the seat releases the latches. So if the cable is snapped or stripped or stretched, you would be unable to move the seat. So, maybe the cable is stuck being taunt? I would move the seat where you want it to be and look under and try prying down on the latches on either side of the seat. Maybe the handle is frozen to one side.
