1998 K1500 AC Problems
 

Hi All,

I need some help with an AC problem on my 98 Chevy Z71. I started having some issues with the AC, and wanted list some symptoms to see if anyone had any ideas. First a few months back my blower would intermittently stop and start. There was a time when I would turn the fan switch on and nothing would happen, and I could hit the dash and it would come on. Seems like a bad connection? It eventually wouldn’t come on at all. I took the blower out and applied 12v to it and it came on, so it doesn’t appear to be the blower. Also, the compressor isn’t cycling on and off, which I’m assuming is normal since it would freeze up if the blower won’t come on? I’ve also replaced the control module and it didn’t help. The vent control seems to be cycling back and forth. I can hear the vent controls moving without me moving anything on the control panel. I haven’t changed the blower motor resistor yet, but I have one on the way. Could it be the relay? Is there any way to check to be for sure? Could this all be a ground problem? Just looking for some advice. Thanks in advance!
