1998 k1500 frame repair
 

Hello, I have a 1998 chevy silverado k1500 141 1/2 wheelbase frame I need to replace both rear frame rails due to rust. I need the rear rails from the front bed mount back. What other year/model 2wd or 4wd frame should I look for in a junkyard that will work? thanks

You might want to google Silverado frame repair or check summit racing. I got a pretty neat set of frame rail reinforcements for my 05 F150. Already shaped and formed three sided, and slid on over the old ones to weld in place. they were made by Dorman it think.

Thanks but I've seen those they won't solve my problem. The rear rails were rusted out, someone tore them off the truck before I got it. The front section is pretty good I need to replace from the cab mounts back. Those reinforcements add a lot of weight to the truck and really don't fix anything, I have to weld anyway I would rather replace what I need with good used. If anyone knows where to find 2 rear rails down south and can ship them without killing me that would be great thanks. God Bless
