1999 gmc 2500 Rev Limiter

Hey guys so i was out fooling around with my truck the other day and i found out when i am at a stop with my brake on, and i hit the gas my truck wont rev higher then 2000 rpm. is this normal or should i have that checked out?

If the truck runs fine then, it's probably normal. If you are in gear when you're doing this, the torque converter is locking up and is not able to overpower the brakes. I wouldn't worry about it but, it's not real good for your motor mounts!

If you would want anymore stall you would have to put in a racing converter. Your not doing your truck any good doing this. Builds a lot of heat in the trans.
