1999 gmc sierra wont start. Help!!!
Hey everyone,
ive got a 99 sierra 4.3 v6...2wd.. its a reg cab short box, and manual trans as well, I started it in the morning and drove it fine for about 20 mins to town, putted around a couple plazas to do some stuff then started it in the plaza to go home and when leaving the plaza the truck lost power and was rough idling while i was coasting then just died... couldn't start it after that..my problem is that it wont start... heres a list of stuff that i know: - sat in the parking lot for 30 mins... - has 3/4 of a tank of gas with gas line antifreeze in it... - has fuel flowing right up to the throttle body, i took the line off the throttle body and turned the key on to prime and it came out like a fountain.. - it does turn over... but wont catch.. - if i put gas down the throttle body, it fires right up.. so it has spark - all fuses are good, none are burnt out.. - i live in Canada.. so it is in the negative temperature wise but i dont think that has anything to do with it. Ive only had the truck about a month, so im unfamiliar with the engine and its components.. so i leave it to your expertise to help me out... im thinking it might be a sensor or something dumb like that.. its like its not letting the fuel past the throttle body in to the engine.. thanks Tyler |
Check fuel pressure. Just because you are getting fuel out of the line doesn't mean you have enough pressure. Also check the fuel pressure regulator.
