Default 2000 Silverado Wont Start

I recently had a blown fuse for my brake lights and replaced it . After doing this my truck would not start. For instance, as soon as I would let off the key the truck would shut off. If I gave it gas it would not even start at all. I changed the fuel filter and it still would not work. I then took the breather off and stuck a rag soaked with gas in it and it would run till it was out of vapors. I called around and everyone said it was the FUELPUMP so i replaced it, still will not run. I have no idea of what it could be and am already $300 in to the problem. Any and all suggestions would be great.

Also, none of my gauges are working either...just my message center and it just shows the battery sign.

Thanks,

James

I don't know if this will hellp but I think you blew more than one fuse. You might start with replacing the " pcm/ecm-b fuse," (which ever your truck has) and work from there (inside that box under the hood). It controls the fuel as well as a few other compnents. If your fuel pump wires were melded, this fuse would go. I know we are all afraid of dlrshps but this may be one time you may need to bite the bullet.
