2001 GMC 1500 4.3L Swap to 350tbi
 

I have a chance to buy a 2001 GMC without motor and trans. I have a 89 Chevy with a 350tbi in it and wanted to put the 350tbi and trans in the 2001 cause it should bolt right up to mounts. The only problem I see is the speedo and gauges are all electronic I was wondering if anybody had any ideas on how to do it. If i could just mount the instrument panel from the 89 in the 2001 dash or something.

I'd start by getting a Haynes manual, or Chilton's manual and making some sense of the instrument panel wiring. That will give you a better idea of how you can go about doing it.

Make sure to take pictures and keep us updated, because this soudns like a cool project :)

Thanks for the reply but I just got an idea Ill build my own instrument cluster with aftermarket gauges. It does sound like an interesting project because ive never seen it done before thats why im interested in doing it.
