2002 chevy silverado locked up
hi, i'm new to this and i don't know too much about vehicle mechanics, but i have a 2002 chevy silverado and the engine seems to be locked up. i had an oil leave and only had about 1 quart left in the the oil tank and while driving to the store to get more oil, the truck went dead and i had to pull over to the side of the road. i put 5 quarts of oil in, but the gauge still says there is no oil pressure and the engine won't even turn over, even after trying to jump it. i also have a python/viper alarm on the truck and think that maybe it could have something to do with the problem??? please help. not sure what exactly to do... thank you!

in the olden days that woulda been a starter. but on these newer trucks they have lots of sensors and engine protection built in. so im out of my league but argon could probably tell you.

It certainly sounds like she's locked up...about all to try here is remove the belt and see if you can turn the engine over with a breaker bar

Another thing to try is disconnect the negative battery terminal for about 20-30minutes allowing the truck to reset the ecu. Than plug it back in, if their is a sensor out of wack that should reset it.
