2002 silverado Headlight Problem
Hello all
I have a 2002 Silverado Z71 1500 HD sportsbed
The questions I have are
I just noticed that my automatic Headlights as well as the switch on
headlights are not working (Day Time running are working) Highs work.
I tried replacing any fuses (found no bad ones) than the relay
(switched it out with one that was working (no help)
The daytime running lights do work and the Highbeams do work just no
low beams in either mood(auto or manual)
I was able to check the blubs and they are good I hooked a test meter up to each wire going to the blubs and One wire was hot the other was open (should be a ground when switch is on)
At this time I ran a test wire from the non hot lead and spliced it in and then grounded it and turned on the low beams and they work as they should (High Beams work also but the low beams now stay on so all 4 headlights are on ) The switch controls the parking and low beams just fine with this ground connected Its just when I turn on high beams with turn signal handle that all 4 come on.(VERY BRIGHT) I then disconnected the ground and tried another dimmer switch (in the dash lower left side)
they still do not work with ground yes. I think I check all the headlight fuses that I can think of.
Maybe I missed something Can anyone think of a fuse I missed?
I have a replacement used turn signal switch High low beam also I want to be sure its not anything Im missing before I switch this switch out I was told that there is a dimmer switch inside here also.
OK if anyone thinks of something please shout out Thanks Tony

Any Ideas or where to check next? Im thinking the blinker switch on
the steering colum mutli switch (expensive)
Please help if you can

Im going over the fuse locations for the headlights and Im not 100% sure I have heard that there are 4 fuses in all for the lights1 for each low beam= 2and1 for each high beam =2 total of four fuses
does anyone know the exact location of each headlight fuse in the engine bay box I looked but its not clear to me
Thanks

i have an 02 with auto lights and I just figured out how they work. you have to press the button 4 times to turn them on manually. I'm sure you already knew that but it takes me just a little bit longer then normal people.
