2003 Silverado Electrical Gremlins.
I have a 2003 2500hd crew cab. As soon as I shift into gear, the driver info center chimes in right rear door ajar when it clearly is not! After many hours chasing down wiring with no luck i took it to the dealer. They diagnosed it with needing a new Body Control Module. Since they want nearly $500 to install this I decided if anyone has had experience with installing a new one on their vehicle?????? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you |
It's not so much the factor of installing it, it's flashing the pcm afterwards so that the computer recognizes it

Usually they can reflash the one you have. I just had mine done in the 2003 Tahoe. IMO from 2003 and up GM got too fancy with these damn trucks. We had a 2002 Yukon before this and it was MUCH simpler. I still can't figure out the A/C controls completely.

I was afraid that may be the response... I will be pretty P.O. if they install a new BCM and say, "well gosh that didn't fix it, I guess we'll just have to put a new motor and transmission in. Do you want to get that done today or schedule another appointment?" Not to that extreme but you catch my drift. I think i'm just going to put the body on a 88-98 box style frame so I can still work on the darn thing. Thanks guys.
