2004 trailer plug in

Just wondering, should a 2004 with towing package have the 7 way plug as well as the 4 flat plug on it from the factory? I was going to buy a t connector to get the 4 flat plug. I never looked up under the truck. I called abouta t connedtortoday and the guy said it should have the 4 flat plug already on it and he said to check under the truck and it is probably tucked up under there.

I will look when I go to lunch today. Just thought I would throw it out there and see if anyone knows.
Thanks.

The four flat plug your talking about is the one with the 3 inlet and 1 outlet or visa versa. Well if so, my truck came with an adapter to have both. From the 7 way plug to the 4 flat plug.

i was just wondering the same thing. but i heard there some kind of plugin up by the driver side tail light for such things as a topper?? i was going to look for it because i would like to plug in my light bar up there instead of keeping a adaptor in cuz they seem to run off a lot. thanks

I must have the best of both worlds, but my truck is an '03, but it came with the round 7 prong and on the side is the 4 prong as well. I am using the 4 prong for my 3 function LED light bar (directionals, brake lights, parking lights). The LED light bar comes on when my headlights come on, plus it has directionals and brake lights as well. I also have the $20.00 adapter which you can get a little bit cheaper @ wallyworld, or any automotive store, than at UHAUL. The plug in, is actually nice for me as, i have the one that converts from 7 round to 5 flat as i tow a boat trailer with surge brakes, plus i can also keep the LED light bar plugged in as well. It looks like factory, but the plugsays Hoppys on it, which is the manufacturer, but it could still be factory installed i believe. My truck i bought used, and it came with the tow hitch and etc. Jim

I looked and mine doesn't have the 4 flat. I found these two T connectors though.

http://www.redtrailers.com/ShowItem.asp?id=118384

http://www.drawtite-hitches.com/products/118384#

They both work the same way, you unplug the wire from the back of your 7 blade, then plug that into one end of the T connector then plug the other end of the T connector back into the back of your 7 blade. Then you have the 7 blade available for use, no adaptor in it,and the flat 4 on a pigtail behind the bumper. I ordered the one from red trailers as it is the same part # as the one from drawtite but a few bucks cheaper. I am also going to use it to hook up a light bar. The one I have has the tail, brake, turn signals and it also lights up white when you put it in reverse. I will plug it in the 4 flat and then I have to hook one wire into the back up lights for the white reverse lights to work on the bar. Should have my T connector by this weekend so I can get it all hooked up.
