2006 Silverado PCM
I have a 2006 Silverado 1500 with the 4.3L. A few months ago, it started giving me trouble when accelerating. It threw the TPS low voltage code (P1022). Changing the sensor didn't help. There are not broken wires or loose connections. I was told by a few mechanic friends that the PCM is probably bad, so I ordered a new one and had it flashed to my VIN. Now, they don't agree on this: is it simply plug and play from here? My truck has no alarms or anything. It's the WT model. Can I just disconnect the battery, install the new PCM, and then let the truck run for a few minutes to re-learn idle?
Thanks! Doug |
So, first is I'm a little confused as to how you programmed the PCM without it being installed in the truck already. And no, it wont start right up. You'll also have to do a security relearn and a crankshaft variation relearn using a scan tool.
