2007 Silverado tranny failure
 

Tranny finally gave up after 10,000 miles. It had issues since day one. It would feel as if it went into neutral when leaving a stop, engine rev up and then whamm!! squeal the tires and away you go. Any one else have any go bad? Mine is a 1/2 ton ext cab 4x4 with 5.3 flex fuel, automatic

Not at 10,000 miles, but, most of us don't have '07s. What's the dealers diagnosis for cause?

Dealer had replaced a pressure switch but it didn't help and could tell from oil when they had the pan off it had been slipping. It was going to have to come out but finally just quit moving all together and GM sent a new tranny to replace it, so dealer didn't even tear it apart. Computer readout for tranny functions always said it was working fine but it wasn't.
