2009 chevy exhaust question
 

I got a new 2009 chevy 1500 a few months ago. On my old 2001 Z71 i had true dual straights after converters . I want the same setup on my new truck, but im not sure about the warranty.

So basicly, if i run true dual straights with converters, will it void my warranty?

As far as I know, anything behind the cats can be fabricated. Deletion or fabrication to the cats or manifolds will void it.

I know in california theres a law that says, if the issue you bring to them is not part of an upgrade they still have to fix it.

You're good, just like said before as long, as it is after the factory cats.

thanks, and also, whats the consequences of cutting off the resonator and flex line thing before the muffler?

Its only for noise supression.

Actually for the flex part I'm not sure about, I would say it's ok but I am not certain why it's there.

Damn i wish i would have asked that earlier. I went to a local shop and they said that if i put true duals my "check engine" light would come on and i might lose horsepower. I ended up running a Y pipe, and it just isnt loud enough for me. Im probably gonna go to another shop and run true duals. That is, if yall are sure it wont mess anything up. If i could get a few more people to confirm it, that would be great. Thanks in advance.

If you want it louder, the American Thunder Exhaust by Flowmaster sounds really good. It is single cat back but, IMO, works better to keep your needed back pressure. Just go to youtube.com to see some videos with that set up.

For some reason on the newer LS series engines it helps keep the torque up by having the slight back pressure. I wouldn't do true duals unless major internal modifications to the engine are made.
