2009 GMC..limited power, shuts down

New to forum...have read a few posts similar to my problem.

warmed up the 2009 gmc sierra this morning...has 71,000 miles on it.

took off out of driveway and went crazy..more lights than a christmas tree....stability service message and limited power, engine light etc.

limped it back and parked it, started up a little later to have the engine light only on. Haven't had code read yet.

With the age and miles ...wondering if warranty still a option?

Thanks for any help!

I'll bet it's a p2135 - basically means the TPMS sensors in your throttlebody went out of sync for a few milliseconds and caused havoc. Gm has special coverage on some trucks that allows dealers to replace just the throttle position sensor instead of the whole throttlebody. A dealer has to do it because they update the computer, relearn the idle and use a dealer only part for the throttle position sensor.

So basically go see a dealer and chances are they'll cover it.

There's no powertrain coverage of throttle bodies, but your truck should be eligible for the special policy throttle position sensor replacement.

Special policy covers throttle body cover. (TPS sensor) 10 years 120,000 miles on certain 2008-2011 models

thanks for the replies....just had it hauled by roll back to the dealer...we will see what they do....wondering if they will cover the $120.00 rollback bill? wishful thinking...hauled it 80 miles roundtrip.
