Thumbs down 2009 Silverado 1500 - 130k miles - transmission dropped - highway miles, non-towing

The transmission completely let go today. It was just diagnosed and there are no codes, so it's an internal issue. It looks like the truck will need a new transmission, without warranty. Absolutely ridiculous.

I have been a Chevy purchaser with all my family vehicles for many years, but they may be losing a valuable customer after the trouble this 2009 has given me.

That's too bad. Have you taken your issue up with the dealership manager or owner. There is also the online customer service.
Keep in mind. You will get further by being nice. A angry loud customer is still an angry loud customer at the end of the day.

Since it's been brought up I'll put my 2 cents in. I purchased my 2004 GMC Z71 new in March of 2004. The first 3 years it was in the shop about every 6 months for one problem after another. the 4x4 selector didn't work, I was told it was a software reload. Check engine lite, replace the charcoal canister and a rely, twice this happened. Intrument cluster problem, first time the speedometer didn't work right and second time the temp gauge didn't work. After buying an extended warranty for $1800 I had no problems until 75,000 miles when the fuel pump went out, under the warranty. Twice I had to replace the radio. Once under warranty. But at just over 100,000 miles I was loosing coolant and the both heads had to be replaced at $3000. I argued with them that that had to be a factory problem to no avail. I decided then to never buy another GM product again. My 98 Acura and 04 Tacoma 4x4 never had any problems other than the CD radio in the Acura.
