Default 2010 Silverado Crew Cab Texas Edition 5.3L 4X4

I just bought a brand new silverado.
crew cab
texas edition
4 wheel drive
5.3 Litre
I really want to put dual exhaust on the truck using a nice sounding 40 series flowmaster that goes from single to the dual exhaust.
i will use the 3 inch polished tips.
my question is. Does it sound stupid when the engine changes from 8 cylinder to 4 cylinder?
is it an annoying sound? or does it not bother you?

Some say yes its sounds crappy and some say you cant hear it at all. If you get a tune, you can turn the AFE off to prevent this. IMO, I dont think the fuel shut off works well anyways.

I have an 07 suburban with this system 5.3L and honestly ive driven many cars and trucks and when the 4 shut down it is seamless, i do notice a slight and i do mean slight throttle delay when kicking it down but no noise or anything noticable. it does get deacent fuel millage for an 8 pass 4x4 with room for the dog.

I replaced my muffler with a high-performance flo-pro muffler, and i get alot of compliments on the sound..and i just got used to the sound when it drops into 4cyl...not too noticeable..

I have an '09 5.3L with Active Fuel Management. I had a Flowmaster 40 Single In-Dual Out muffler installed. I'm generally happy with the sound and limited resonance. It's barely noticeable when it switches from 8 cylinders to 4. And no, it does not sound stupid. Here's a link to a video of my truck after the Flowmaster 40 install:

That sounds great. I friend of mine had the same truck and like already mentioned it was barely noticable when it switched to 4 cylinders. I say go for it!

I installed a GM touring exhaust system on my 2008 Sierra with the 5.3. Now, keep in mind that it is nowhere near as loud as the 40 will be, but as others stated, the changeover is barely noticable. Just a little muffled pop.

Do it !!! you'll love it.
