Default 2011 Sierra signal issue

2011 Sierra 1500 SLE Ext. Cab 4 x 4-
I've been asking around shops & on other forums about this. my left turn signal will click 4 times normally & then go rapid fire. I found a video on you tube where; there's a junction plate on a crossmember just behind the spare tire with 4 plugs. one goes to the left signal. the fix is to unplug them & clean them. I did that & it fixed it for a couple weeks. 2 days ago I repeated this procedure 5 times. the last time I bought some CRC terminal cleaner, sprayed everything, coated terminals with dialectic grease. still doesn't work. the symptoms are: rapid fire signal, ALL bulbs, including backup flash. brake light is dim. it's easier to get to the right hand tail light plug ( appears to feed that light only ) when you unplug all 4 plugs. at one point I only plugged in that plug to test & got a rapid fire right signal as well. after everything was hooked up the right side worked normally. i'm a good mechanic but my expertise is with older cars, trucks, tractors, etc. give me a vehicles with points & carburetors any time. the guy on you tube said on his 1st attempt he replaced the bulbs & that fixed it for a day or 2. i'm thinking this is a ground issue but i'm not sure how to proceed. taking the cheapest route 1st I might try replacing bulbs. I found a source for the terminal to tail light harness for $25.00 so I might try that if the bulbs do not fix it. any input????
