2018 2500 HD traction control

Hello - New here and just bought 2018 2500HD. Not new to mechanics....just old school and not used to all this electronically controlled stuff. So I believe I under stand TCS: it comes on when it senses wheel spin and brakes work to stop spin along with computer dropping engine power. You can turn it off with button on dash but every time you start truck up it will come back on. So if you don't want it on you have to turn it off overtime you start truck up? It does not work when transmission is in first gear. Are all these statements above accurate ? A lot of people have mentioned turning off TCS to do burn outs. Not that my goal is to do burn outs but when I've turned traction control off it doesn't seem like my truck spins the tire any easier than when TCS is on. How does auto locking differential play into all of this. I would think it would make it almost impossible to spin tires on dry pavement with stock 6.0 power and locking differential. I'm sure someone here has more information on this whole situation and can explain and answer my questions.

Thanks in advance!
