Default 22K and the 4L60E bites the dust

2006 Sierra 5.3L crew cab 4X4 SLE2 only 22,000
K&N CAI
Magnaflow dual cat back exhaust
SuperChips Cortex tuner

Lost 3rd and drive 1,2, and reverse works. Problem is that the forward sprag gave it up.
I bought this truck new in 06 but it only came with a 3yr / 30k warranty. I didn't purchase an extended or aftermarket warranty.
Enter BG products!! At 20k as a precautionary measure I had several of the trucks systems flushed and filled with BG cleaners and fluids by a certified dealer / mechanic.
Now my truck (Sport) is at a highly reccomended transmission shop that also is BG approved getting a rebuilt (better than new so I'm told) transmission and BG is paying $2000 towards the repair.
This is still in the works and I'm a little reluctant to trumpet BG's praises but it sure looks good so far.
Wish me luck.

I hope it works out for you also. I kinda wonder why the transmission went out only 2k miles after it was flushed. Any chance they did something to make it fail? Good luck.

Well I got my truck back this afternoon and all is well. BG stepped up and paid the shop 2 grand, I kicked in another 4 hundred and change now Sport has a nicely rebuilt transmission with Corvette servos and other improvements.
High-tech transmission in Merrifield VA is without a doubt one of the best companies I've had the pleasure of dealing with (two day turn around) no BS about anything. BG has a customer for life in me.
We're going on vacation at the end of next week so I'll drive Sport some next week instead of my work truck just to make sure nothing weird happens but I've got a good feeling from driving it tonight.
I don't think the flush played any part in the forward sprag rolling over, it's a design issue along others in the not so venerable 4L60E. Fluids are a transmissions lifes blood and should be kept in good shape IMO. I've heard the never change the fluid theory but I'm not buying it.

I rarely tow (light boat when I do) and honestly never have carried much of a load in Sport. It was purchased to transport grandbabies and give the little lady a ride on snow days. And because I have to have a certain amount of boy toys (likely the number one reason, LOL).
It came with a tow package and without researching there is a reasonable expectation that a cooler may already be in place, I'm not sure but curious now.

Edit: Just did a quick on-line search and without getting under the truck to look it's my belief that the cooler is already there.

Just look behind the GMC emblem on your front grille and there should be a little cooler. But I always suggest adding one to everyone even if you are not towing. This will prolong the life of the tranny.

It's there albeit on the smallish side. So far so good with the repair, I tuned it with my Cortex preset for performance last night after a road trip and a fill up with some high octane. It's running great.
