2wd front bearings 2001 silverado
 

Has anyone replaced the front wheel bearings on their 2wd silverado? I have niticed the bearing cover on my 2001 silverado is missing. it in located on the inside of the steering knuckle. I can not fined this part anywhere. I have been to 4 checy dealers. they tell me I have to buy the bearing ($388). Junk yard is no help either, they want 200 for the whole knuckle. any help will be appreciated. thanks.

THE PROBLEM IS PROFIT; You cannot fix it. You have to buy the whole wheel bearing component. I just did it on my 3500 at 130k, all 4. I have to assume you have high mileage; if not, you might look for a TSB from GM about wheel bearing failures. They may be fixing them out of warranty. Do a Boolean Google search;
