alright so i currently have a 1996 4.3 reg cab short box. i would like to swap the 4.3 for a 5.7 from a 1998.

i have the entire 1998 truck not just the engine.

i've done some research and it seems like it should be pretty straight forward but does anyone know of anyone who has actualy done this. or any build threads?

 

Your gonna need to change out the PCM also. Not sure if the connections for the sensors are the same. It may seem like a hassle to mess with the electrical part, but its really not. As far as mounting th engine, the tranny should bolt up to it, and should sit fine in the mounts.
