5.3 Fuel Economy/ Programming?

Anyone have any info on improving the gas mileage on my 2002 5.3 Z71? Any experience with the "programmers" on Fuel economy settings?

I can usually get 3 to 4 mpg, the performance tunes have a much bigger effect and do not hurt mileage, they just dont help much either, about 1 to 2 mpg better. goodguysgarage.net
