I have a 5.3L 2wd silverado. I was wondering if anybody knows what the compatabilies are between the 5.3 and the LS1/LS6's are. For example, will the LS6 intake manifold will fit on the 5.3. And what are the differences as far as cam, heads, etc...

 

as far as i can tell, they are the same, i was looking at putting a z06 cam in my 5.3, coulda been killer...

 

The intake manifold will fit, but you have to do some modifications to the bracket for the throttle cable... Everything else is direct fit...

 

They will fit like MrLM7 said but if you buy a used one make sure it is an LS6 manifold. The LS1 and the LS6 manifolds lok very similar. The LS6 has a flat low-slung floor and the LS1 floor has a double swoop in it where itisdeeper at the center. Also there is a book called "How to build high performance chevy ls1/ls6 v-8's" it is a great book and it tells you which parts are interchangeable and which ones are the bestfor the different egines.
