Thinking of trading for a 2500 HD with the 8100, 4:10 ratio. Realistically, what kind of mileage can I expect, normal driving, 8 to 10 thousand loaded trailer? One dealer tells me 10 to 12 mpg, another tells me 14 to 15 mpg????

 

If you plan on pulling alot the 8100 is a good choice. As for gas mileage, it depends. If it has the Allison auto 5 speed you will get around 9, and with the Turbo 400 w/overdrive you might get 10 or 11. The new HD's have the Allison auto 6 speed, but i have no idea what it gets for mileage. If i had to guess, i'd say it would get around 11 or 12 with the 6 speed auto.
