all of a sudden my gear indicator on my dash stopped working on my 93' gmc sierra. can anyone help me??? i need to know how to repair this problem. truck continues to drive fine.

That year has a cable that goes from the shifter to the steering column. Take the piece of plastic that is directly below the steering column off. It has 2 screws holding it at the bottom and 2 tabs at the top. With that removed you will see a small metal cable with a slide clip at the end of it. Most of the time when I have seen that happen the area where it slides on to the column has cracked off. Even when that is case you should be able to slide it back on. Let us know what you find.
