I don't think my picture embedding worked. I built one for my '01 out of 3/4 OSB (particle board). I took the measurement under the rear seat, subtracted 1 1/2 inches from the length of each side and calculated the amount of airspace I had. Based on that number I chose an apropriate speaker. I used an 8" MTX Blue Thunder. I assembled the pieces with 1 1/2 inch finish nails and Liquid Nail. For an added touch I sketched and cut, with a dremel, a flame design in the front of the box on either side of where I would mount the 400 watt amp. I painted the inside of the box red and installed red strip lights purchased from Discount Auto parts. The flame shaped holes were covered with acrilyc and screwed to the surface of the bax after covering it with black carpet, also purchased at Discount. The wireing was a little more involved and will cover that at your request.

I am a do it yourself guy, and have built many boxes, but I must say the prices at car audio factory are really good, so I am going to buy my next box there. But if you want ot build your own, Cracker gave good info. I always used 5/8 OSB though. http://caraudiofactory.com/20012007-...ker-p-197.html

Smoke - I think the 5/8 is more than adequate. The 3/4 is just what I had lying around.
For the price of premanufactured boxes it almost isn't worth building your own.

I agree, unless you need something cutom made. I was about to make my own when somebody posted that site and I saw the price. The box I was going to make was just like that, and the cost would probably have been higher.

I would suggest using mdf for a box over osb.You dnt hear no echo with mdf as you would with the particle board

look at the link I posted, that is for a 12" sub for my truck. They even have 2 - 12" for my truck, behind the seat.
