96 gmc sierra 3500 steering wheel locked

Help, my 96 gmc 3500 steering wheel is locked and I cannot turn the key. Any ideas on solving this problem?:mad:

I have had vehicles in the past that this has happened on i believe. All i had to do was put the key in, move the wheel as far as it will go, and then turn the ignition.

Agreed, hold the steering wheel hard to one side and try to turn the key. They can get jammed.
