99 chevy silverado 1500

Default 99 chevy silverado 1500

I have a 99 chevrolet silverado and when i first got it keyless entry worked. it all of the sudden stopped working i changed battery in remotes and when i went toprogram new remote i cant get it into program mode I am doing the steps corrrectly but after ignition cycle and releease unlock button the doors dont do the lock unlock any suggestions

What is the best way to check relay I did check fuse all are good

For testing a relay, you should be able to use an ohm meter to get an ohm reading on two of the four/five pins. It's hard for me to describe ... The easiest way is to swap the relay with a known good one from a harmless circuit, such as the horn (only do this for testing while in your driveway/not going to drive it) and see if you can get your circuit in question to work again. I don't know anything about the circuit you're talking about, but check your labels on the fuze box cover, or in the users manual and figure out if you have a relay for the FOB/alarm.

I'm a bit stumped on that one too. I remember having some that would take a few tries to program though. You might even go up or down a model year on programming instructions just to see if it might work.
