ABS and Brake light

For about 6 months my ABS and Brake lights have been coming on togehter and random times. It's been doing it more often this week after a trip through the desert. I take the truck to the beach about 4 time a year, don't know if this would have anything to do with it. I replaced all pads and rotors 3 months ago. Besides that, I don't what else to check, any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Try cleaning the wheel speed sensors. That can trip the ABS light, and cause your ABS to kick in when it shouldn't at low speed. I've heard stories of people putting their trucks through their garage doors because the ABS tripped trying to stop in their driveway.

Happened to me.

damn GM brakes.

I pulled my ABS fuse and all has been well since. best free mod you can do if the ABS is giving you ANY trouble. I wouldnt suggest running it without ABS on ice unless you are a decent driver, unlike most of the people these trucks seem to be dumbed down for.

and yes when I pulled my fuse the ABS and BRAKE light indicators came on. but I got used to it.

the wheel speed sensor is behind the hub. most trucks affected with the abs problem are from up north due to the corrosion. the sensors will read incorrectly and lock the ABS in when it isnt needed. there is a good chance you will need to buy hubs too. about $300-400 for the parts from Napa. I think. I didnt feel like messin with any sensors so I pulled the fuse.

A VSS will also trip the abs and brake light.......how about the brakes them selves??????? do they still have "life" left?

The brake pads and rotors are all new, >3months old. I'll check the vss and the wheel speed sensors, hopefully I don't need new hubs. I don't want to disable the ABS.
