ac compressor shuts off
 

2006 gmc 1500 5.3 litre, ac compressor does not always kick on when started and at other times works great, cannot not seem to get any help from local dealer any would be appreciated thanks.

check the ac clutch pully it may be bad
also check the blower motor resistor it could be sending the wrong voltage
also check fuses
more info would be greatly apriciated for better help

thanks for reply, fuses are good checked power to compressor do not know voltage but is getting there, could low pressure be the problem? when compressor runs seems to make cold air, my work for couple days or might not work for same, seems like if not working shut truck off for awhilr and restart may begin working.

it could be low pressure not enough freon in the tubes but if its a 2006 and theres nothing in the system you want to check for leaks

also your clutch may not be engaging or the compressor is shot or leaking
