Air Bag Service?
My 2003 Silverado Crew Cab with approx 120k miles recently displayed "Service Air Bag". Could this be just something that can be just reset? Or, maybe an underlying serious problem? All thoughts and idea's appreciated.

I would have it checked - you probably have a sensor going bad. You can try to reset your computer by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for a few minutes and see if it comes back on. If so, get it checked.

Thanks for the reply Mr. Shamrock. I am going to do the battery disconnect right away. I'm hoping the luck of the Irish Shamrock will be with me on this and reset avoiding expensive dealer costs.

air bag reset?
The air bag did not reset with the battery disconnect. However, I did notice after traveling over the bumpy expressway road in Boston the display intermitently returned to normal then back to "service air bag" suggesting it may be a loose connection. Question is how many sensors can there be? Where can they located? And, what would they look like? All comments greatly appreciated. Thanks , Skoot61

Good question to ask. I will be keeping my eye on this thread, because my mom's Avalanche has the same problem.
