Got a 2006 sierra and the chimes are about to make me trade it.Talked to the dealership and they said they could not be turned off.The owners manual has a setting that allows you to change it from normal to loud (imagine that)but not be able to mute it.These chimes play when key is left in ingnition,headlights on,seatbelt reminder.There has to be a way to mute this chime.It plays through the radio speakers,so I don't won't to disconnect the radio.Any sugestions other than trading it for some other brand?

f you get a aftermarket radio and don't buy the aftermarket chime kit then you should not have the chimes

retained accessory power will not work without the adapter kit. basically you would have to turn your truck to the acc position to listen to the radio w/o the truck running. the radio wont stay on for 10 mins after you turn the truck off or until the doors are opened.
