Hi i have a 89 chevy silverado with 5.7 i am having problems with it. first of my idle is normal when i first start it up and then next thing it starts to almost die then jumps back to normal over and over then when i get in and give it a little gas it runs fine,or if i turn it off and turn it on again it runs normal with a little high of an idle. it smells rich and smells like gas at front of truck.I cant figure it out any help please and thank you.

 

Do you have a check engine light on?

 

yes it comes on then go back of in like 1 minute ive had it scanned but it was a missfire code.
