Bad Throttle Body of 09 Sierra 5.3 L...
 

I have a 2009 GMC Sierra (5.3 L) with 29,000 miles and my throttle body just went bad and it is now getting replaced. Is this a sign of things to come?

I would consider it a fluke, haven't heard of any other failures of them yet.

I am very happy with the truck so far. Going to work at 60 - 65 mph, I am getting anywhere from 23 - 28 mpg. And I researched the he** out of all the trucks and this is the one I kept coming back to.

The 5.3 is a proven power plant from GM, I have one in an '06 with 118K on it and it's still going strong. Plus one in a 2011 with about 6K on it, good trucks and pretty easy on gas too.

I want to start running synthetic in this truck. Any advice on the best oil for this?

Amsoil is what I run.
