battery cable connections...

Hello all. I'm a little confused. I'm finishing up with a 350 install in my 1987 R10 P/U. I'm not sure where all of the connections go for thebattery cables. You have the ends which obviously connects to the battery, and then you have three other connections. There is a long thick cable, a medium shorter cable, and a thinner cable. I am guessing that the long thick one attaches to the starter, I saw a picture of the medium cable attacked to the alternator bracket for a ground, and it looks like the smaller cable attaches to the back of the alternator. Does this sound right?I don't want to end up frying something...

no no no. there should be a cable that is bigger with 2 wires that goes to the starter. then the other is a ground. and just attaches somewhere to the engine.

Okaywait, I looked at it wrong. Both the positive and negative cables have two wires each; a large one and a small one. Does the large positve connect to the starter, the small positive connect to the alternator, and the two negatives connect tothe engine and body? (one negitive is still connected to the inner fender)

the ground cable..the big one to the engine block...not the intake or exh manifold...look down lowww,by the harmonic balancer...the small eye grounds to the fender well
